About this test

6 min to complete
Available in EN, ES, RU

You must pass a 25 multiple-choice question knowledge test in order to receive your Connecticut learner’s permit or driver’s license. In order to pass, you must achieve at least an 80% passing score, which requires answering at least 20 questions correctly. The answers to all knowledge test questions can be found by studying the 2024 Connecticut Driver’s Manual. If you are receiving your learner’s permit at the age of 16 or 17, you will need to wait at least 120 days before you can apply for your driver’s license, if you take driver’s education via a commercial or secondary school. Those who choose to go through a home training program must wait at least 180 days, and must still take an eight-hour safe driving course. If you are 18 years of age or over, you must wait at least 90 days before you can take the necessary road test to receive your driver’s license. Remember, you must make an appointment online to take your knowledge test, and testing is only available at certain Connecticut DMV locations. This DMV practice test will help you prepare for the knowledge test as it contains questions very similar to those on the real exam.
